Body text

Below I am showing my body text which will feature as my article for my DPS. I have made it about my model/artists tour and her life surrounding the tour because this allows me to ask her an array of questions and acquire a variety of interesting responses.

Interviewer
Artist / Olivia

First of all, it’s lovely to meet you Olivia! I’m intrigued to know how you first got into the music industry… and how you’ve become so successful with your indie style music?
Well I guess it’s luck really! I mean breaking the ice in any industry is difficult but to actually become successful within my chosen profession is… well incredible to be honest. I have worked so hard to get where I am now, by gigging wherever and whenever I could and my family have been so so amazing, that’s my story really!
Ha ha, well I hear that a certain member of your family actually inspired you to start playing instruments, your brother was it?
Yeah my older brother is an amazing musician and always has been as far as I can remember. He’s a member of NYJO (national youth jazz orchestra) but has this sort of unique versatility with his music, that really is why I started playing guitar and then eventually I found my voice.
Is there anyone in the music industry that inspired you?
Bowie. He's my hero. The music he made was breath taking and I loved every one of his tracks. I also loved the personas he created throughout his life that all had a different story to tell. The way he knew how to develop himself to fit in with the ever – changing music industry amazed me and I would be honoured to achieve even half of what he has.
That’s got a lovely sentiment to it! You do write your own music, is that correct?
Yeah I do, I like to make my music part of my journey in life – I write what I’m feeling at any given time and eventually I harvest enough material for a song. I always have a diary with me so that if something inspires me I’m sure to write it down and use it later!
Is that why you’re so passionate about what you do?
Yeah I guess, I LOVE music and everything that comes with it, especially travelling. I mean I’m so lucky at my age to have opportunities like going all over the globe with my friends, fans and music. I do what feels right which has got me where I am today and I’m so proud of myself for that.
You’re right to be proud because you’ve got your own, first tour! How are you finding it?
Going on tour has changed my life. Honestly I love it, experiencing different cultures and even seeing the most typical tourist sites is something I didn’t think I’d be able to do so early in life! And I am unbelievably grateful for everyone that helped me get here.
And have you got a favourite place that you have visited on your tour so far?
That’s a tough one… I’ve enjoyed everywhere! But if I had to pick one place, I would say Venice. I had a smaller, intimate gig at a little venue and the crowd was inspiring, along with the atmosphere. It’s something I’ll never forget.
And do any memories in specific stand out? Have you tried anything new or exciting on your adventures?!
I went sky-diving which was, well... such a rush! The landscape was amazing and the adrenaline I felt was unimaginable. Doing things like that makes this experience even more amazing!
It sounds great and the most important thing about any career is that you enjoy it… and it seems as though you do, right?
Oh absolutely. I owe it all to my family and sharing this journey with them makes it all the more special.
Well thank you so much for your time Olivia! I hope the rest of your tour goes great and all the best for the future!
Thanks, lovely speaking to you!

I also think the idea of having an add-on at the end of the interview advertising her tour would be a good idea as it allows the reader to find out more about it! I am thinking to add something like this...:
  • Olivia's world tour will bring her to London, Birmingham and Manchester in March,,, book here >>> bookticketsnow@owt.com
  • See Olivia at the O2 Arena on the 20th and 21st of March,,, book now >>> O2ticketsolivia.co.uk
I like these last sentences because it ends the article nicely and directs the reader of where to go if they want to find out more about her tour.
